Adjust the automatic allocation setting for master orders

Note: Before making changes to the automatic allocation settings, please consult with eGrow Support. Also, making changes to allocation settings does *not* affect existing orders unless you add new items to the order or reallocate items on the order.

Many choose to use the automatic allocation tool in eGrow Connect to allocate plants on master orders. This tool allows you to choose preferences for allocation (ie. oldest crop first, smallest crop first, etc.) and eGrow Connect will follow your preferences when automatically allocating crops. Of course, you can always manually adjust allocation for items whenever it is needed.

To adjust the automatic allocation preferences on master orders

  1. Navigate to system setup logo System Setup > Sales > Order Allocation.
  2. Click Master Order Allocation near the top of the right pane.
  3. Select your preferences for Overcommit options
  4. Review and update any Exclusions/Inclusions for allocation.
  5. Select your preferences in the “Options” section by toggling the choices.
  6. If you select “Allocate to ready date”, further options will appear which allow you to create a window around the Date Wanted and to toggle to set up your allocation preferences in the “Allocation Order” section.
  7. Click on the Save Settings button

Detail Description

  • Allow to Overcommit: When turned on, this allows you to overcommit inventory.
  • Enable Manual Overcommit (within any ready date): Allows for the manual overcommitting of a specific ready date.
  • Section I. Exclusions/Inclusions: By default, everything is included in automatic allocation. Use this section to exclude/include specific farms, location types, locations, categories, or item types when doing automatic allocation. Growers may use this option to exclude portions of their inventory that are reserved for production purposes.
  • Section II. Options: Toggle to include only crops flagged with “On Availability” and also toggle “Allocate to Ready Date” to show more automatic allocation options.
  • Ready Date Range: You can enter a specified range around the Date Wanted on the master order that will limit which ready dates can be included in automatic allocation.
  • Section II. Allocation Order: In this section you can select automatic allocation priorities by toggling each option and dragging options to the top that are most important.
