Overcommit crops

Some nurseries want the capability to sell more of a plant than they physically have in inventory. eGrow Connect calls this, overcommitting. You have the option of allowing this capability or blocking it in eGrow Connect. Blocking is the default. Follow these steps to allow it.

Note: You will need to reallocate overcommitted items after they are entered into the inventory.

How to allow overcommit in eGrow Connect.

  1. Navigate to system setup logo System Setup > Sales > Order Allocation.
  2. Toggle the two allocation settings to match your preference.
    1. Allow to Overcommit: When turned on, this allows you to overcommit inventory that will appear automatically in the location and ready date that you determine here.
    2. Enable Manual Overcommit (within any crop): Allows for the manual overcommitting of a specific crop.

Note: Be aware that even if overcommit is not enabled, there may be occasions when inventory adjustments affect items already committed on orders and could result in a negative quantity available. Read more to understand negative available quantities.
