Master order allocation explanation
Master orders can be allocated to the total available quantity, “System”, or to an available quantity within a specific ready date. When items are released to a sales order they will be allocated using allocation rules defined in the Master Order Pre-Release automatic allocation in System Setup.
It is important to mention that when items allocated to a specific ready date are released, they will only be allocated to crops available within that ready date.
Growers who allocate to a ready date usually have groups of crops that are ready at different times of the year. They will allocate to the ready date that is closest to the time the orders will ship. Other growers may have a steady stream of inventory which reduces the need to reserve crops from a specific ready date.
If you don’t want to allocate to specific ready dates on a master order, you have the option to allocate to “System”. Allocating to the “System” simply commits items from the total quantity of that item you have, regardless of ready date.
