Place a credit limit or credit hold on a customer
You may place a credit hold or a credit limit on your customers to remind you about their financial standing.
Credit Holds
Placing a credit hold will add a “Credit Hold” badge next to the customer name when creating new orders and prevent new orders for that customer from being created.
To place a credit hold on a customer:
- Navigate to
Sales, then
Customers.
- Click on the Other Info tab in the right pane.
- Click Yes next to the Credit Hold option.
Credit Limits
eGrow Connect allows you to select how you want credit limits to be calculated in System Setup > Company Preferences > Sales. Once you select a calculation method and enter a credit limit amount for a customer, an alert will appear if a new order is being created if they have met or exceeded their credit limit. The alert does not prevent you from creating a new order, only reminds you that their credit limit has been reached.
To enter a credit limit on a customer:
- Navigate to
Sales, then
Customers.
- Click on the Other Info tab in the right pane.
- Enter a dollar amount in the Credit Limit field.
