Set a credit limit for a customer
You may choose to set a credit limit for a customer. Once you select a calculation method and enter a credit limit amount for a customer, an alert will appear if a new order is being created if they have met or exceeded their credit limit. The alert does not prevent you from creating a new order, only reminds you that their credit limit has been reached.
Note: You may customize the way credit limits are calculated in System Setup > Company Preferences > Sales.
- Navigate to
Sales, then
Customers.
- Choose a customer from the left pane list and double-click on them.
- In the right pane, click into the Other Info tab.
- Enter an amount in the “Credit Limit” field, then hit Enter.
