Copy/Paste Import Tool Walkthrough
This tool is used to add items to an order or quote by transferring a list of items from Excel or any other spreadsheet into eGrow Connect rather than entering each item one-by-one.
- Navigate to your sales order, master order, or sales quote.
- You will access this tool by clicking the
Add Items button in the taskbar and choosing
Enter by Product ID or Copy/Paste Import.
- In the new popup window, click on the Paste Data tab.
- Review the row of column headers that are required for the tool near the top (Product ID*, Short Name, etc.). Any header titles with an * must have data included for this tool to work. The spreadsheet data that you import must match all the headings and be in the same order as presented here, even if some of the columns are blank.
- Once your spreadsheet is arranged properly, select all the data in the spreadsheet NOT INCLUDING the header rows. Right-click and choose Copy.
- Back in the eGrow Connect “Paste Data” tab, right-click in the box and select Paste as plain text or Paste without formatting. *It is important not to simply use “Paste” here, you must paste without formatting. When pasted, the data may appear messy or not orderly, this is totally normal.
- Click
Parse Pasted Data above the tab names. If any issues arise, double check that your columns match the headings listed *exactly* and be sure you are pasting correctly and try again.
- Click
Add to Order, then review the items you added to be sure they are correct.
