This is part of the Label/Tag Printing Add-on Module.

The following steps will walk you through the setup for the Label/Tag Printing Add-on Module. This will include:

  • Setting up a Dropbox as a go-between for eGrow Connect and the label/tag software, BarTender.
  • Integrating BarTender, the software used to create label and tag templates, and eGrow Connect, where all of the inventory information for the tags will come from.
  • Creating label/tag templates that will be populated with eGrow information.
  • Setting up necessary information in eGrow Connect to finalize the process.
  • At the completion of these steps, you will be ready to print labels and/or tags for your items directly from eGrow Connect.

Note: This process will take some time, so please plan accordingly.

Creating Label/Tag Templates

Complete Step 6 by creating Label/Tab templates

Refer to the instructional PDF or view this video on how to Create label or tag templates in BarTender. It is important to remember that a tag file can only be printed by the printer selected when the tag was built. If you want to print the same tag with a different printer, you will need to create a new tag file and connect it to the new printer.

eGrow Connect Setup

Complete Step 7 to set up your Printer and Label/Tag lists. Setup the printer list first, then the label/tag list.

Printer List Setup

  1. Navigate to eGrow Connect, system setup logo System Setup > Integrations > Label/Tag Printing > Printer List. All printers that print Labels/Tags must be added to this Printer List
  2. Click Add New icon Add.
  3. The Printer Name must be the *exact* printer name used on your PC.
  4. The Custom Name will be a common name (i.e. North Farm Printer)
  5. Select a Data Folder for this printer. eGrow Connect allows space for 4 printers to connect, the first will be A, the second B, and so forth.
  6. Click Submit after each printer.

Label/Tag List Setup

  1. Navigate to eGrow Connect, System Setup > Integrations > Label/Tag Printing > Label/Tag List.
  2. Click Add New icon Add in the right pane to enter a new Label/Tag template.
  3. Enter the *exact* file name and extension of the new template. Incorrectly entering the file name is a common mistake.

  5. Select the printer that the tag was set up to print to from the list.
  6. Click Submit after each label/tag.
